Mar–AprCold water, slow fish, deep

Black/olive buzzers on sink tip. Slow figure-of-eight or static. Streamers for aggression on warmer afternoons.

May–JunInsect life building — prime months

Buzzers on floater, top 3ft. Hare's ear nymph. Early morning and evening dries as hatches start.

Jul–AugHot and bright — fish the edges of the day

Elk hair caddis, parachute Adams, foam daddy. Deep and small at midday. Dawn and dusk-only sessions.

Sep–OctRainbows aggressive pre-winter

Wooly bugger, damsel nymph, minkie on intermediate. Rainbows will chase streamers hard in cooler water.

Nov–FebMost stocked stillwaters quiet; slow

Small nymphs deep. Streamers on full sinker on mild days. Diawl bach fished very slowly.
